Handwriting notes in a notebook beside a pen

Momentum talk gets vague fast — “it looks strong,” “buyers are here.” Our sheet forces five lines:

  1. Impulse quality — Was the advance/decline measured in few bars with expanding range, or a grind?
  2. Volume companion — Did participation rise with the impulse, or did price drift on quiet tape?
  3. Pullback behavior — Did the pause hold above/below a prior micro-structure level?
  4. Exhaustion tells — Wide range reversal, climax volume, or overlapping bars?
  5. Decision — Continue, wait, or stand down — with one invalidation level written in numbers.

We do not grade for being bullish. We grade for finishing the sheet before the size discussion. Traders who skip line five usually discover they wanted permission, not a review.
